System Mode

The system supports two modes of operation. The mode of operation determines how users access outside lines from their phones:

Key Mode. Users access individual outside lines to make and receive calls.

Hybrid Mode. Users can access individual outside lines as in Key mode. However, you also can create up to four groups, or pools, of multiple outside lines. When the user accesses a pool to make a call, the system selects an available line from the pool. Since multiple lines are associated with the pool, the user does not know which line within the pool is being used to make the call.
