Organization Name

Specifies the registered name of the organization. The

 

organization must own the domain name that appears in

 

the common name of the web server. Do not abbreviate the

 

organization name and do not use any of the following

 

characters:

 

< > ~ ! @ # $ % ^ * / \ ( ) ?

 

 

Organization Unit

Secifies the name of the department or group that uses the

 

secure web server.

 

 

Common Name

Specifies the name of the web server as it appears in the

 

URL. The name must be the same as the domain name of

 

the web server that is requesting a certificate. If the web

 

server name does not match the common name in the

 

certificate, some browsers will refuse a secure connection

 

with your site. Do not enter the protocol specifier (http://) or

 

any port numbers or pathnames in the common name.

 

Wildcards (such as * or ?) and IP address are not allowed.

 

 

Email Address

Specifies the user’s e-mail address.

 

 

Alternate Name

Specifies alternate information if you did not provide a

 

Common Name or e-mail address. Enter a

 

comma-separated list of URI:<uri>, DNS:<fqdn>,

 

IP:<ip-address>, email:<email-address>).

 

 

Valid Days

Specifies the number of days a test certificate remains

 

valid.

 

 

Key Length

Specifies the length of the generated key, in bits. Available

 

options are:

 

512

 

1024

 

2048

 

4096

 

The default value is 1024.

 

 

Input Server Certificate

Select this box to create a new certificate by pasting the

 

certificate file from a text editor.

 

 

Server Certificate

The area where contents of an existing certificate file is

 

pasted when the Input Server Certificate option is selected.
