You can add NTP servers to the system configuration to enable the NTP client on the Nortel SNAS 4050 to synchronize its clock. To compensate for discrepancies, it is recommended that NTP have access to at least three NTP servers.

Configuring the date and time settings

To configure the system date and time, perform the following steps:

1Select the System > Date & Time tab.

The Date & Time screen appears (see Figure 145 on page 528).

2Enter the date and time information in the applicable fields. Table 105 describes the Date & Time fields.

Specifies the system time in HH:MM:SS format, using a

 

24-hour clock.

 

 

Time Zone

Specifies the time zone, selected from the list.

 

 

NTP Server Table

Displays a list of active NTP servers.

 

 

3Click Apply on the toolbar to send the current changes to the Nortel

SNAS 4050. Click Commit on the toolbar to save the changes permanently.
