Press during message playback to cause the system to
function as if 7 were pressed. However, # can also be used to
repeat the system yes-and-no questions and in message
playback. A subscriber using menu mo de, can pre ss to step
back to the previous menu.
Optional Hands-Free Message Playback
Subscribers can retrieve mess ages without pressing a touchtone to
select each message. A System Manager can activate this feature
for an individual subscriber by addi ng N to the Access field on the
subscriber Personal Directory page. The s ubscriber ca n then listen
to all messages using a telephone handset or spea ker telephone
without having to press touchtones f or ea ch message.
When N (No-Hands playback) is adde d t o a su bs c ri ber Access field,
the system plays the subscriber messages one after the other,
without asking , “
Would you like to hear it
?” and softkeys (if equipped)
are displayed on a Multiline Terminal. For more softkey information,

All touchtone keys that control message pla yback are still av ailable
to the subscriber with hands-f ree me ssage ret rieval . For exa mple, if
a subscriber presses the 8 t ouc h tone to pause a message pla yback,
the subscriber must press 8 agai n for pla yba ck to resu me. Me ssage
playback continues hands-free, when it is resumed.
