About the TeleVantage H.323 SoftPhone ______________________

The TeleVantage H.323 SoftPhone is included with TeleVantage ViewPoint. If your system has properly configured H.323 trunks, the SoftPhone can turn your PC into an H.323-based voice-over-IP telephone. To speak and listen, you can use your PC's microphone and speakers, or a USB phone which will provide better quality. To place calls, you can use ViewPoint or the SoftPhone keypad window.

Important: If your system is configured to use only SIP-based Voip, the TeleVantage H.323 SoftPhone will not work. Use the eyeBeam SIP softphone instead, which also provides higher audio quality than the H.323 SoftPhone. See Appendix G, “Using the CounterPath SIP softphones.”
