Chapter 14: Software installation, upgrade, and update procedures 413

Procedure 5: Load the operating system tape on an Application Module with an MVME147 card

This procedure assumes that you have backed up all files and have powered down the Application Module (Procedure 4).

ATTENTION

Do not press the [Backspace] or [Delete] key when the operating system is not installed, or you may drop out of the procedure into a previous menu or out of the installation procedure altogether. Use # (hold the [Shift] key and press 3) to backspace.

If you drop out of the procedure (into the Ò#Ó prompt), start the reinstallation procedure from the beginning.

Note: If you intend to activate CCR and use terminals or printers, ensure that the MVME332XT or MVME332XTS card is installed before you start this procedure.

If you are sure that your MVME147 card has been configured (for example, if you are upgrading software on a working system), skip steps 3Ð13 and go directly from step 2 to step 14.

1Set the appropriate breaker on the MPDU to the ON position.
