Enabling a Partial Configuration

Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to enable the CNS configuration agent and to
initiate a partial configuration on the switch:
To disable the CNS configuration agent, use the no cns config partial {ip-address | hostname} global
configurati on co mma nd. To c ance l a p artia l c onfigura tio n, use t h e cns con fig cance l privileged EXEC
command.
Command Purpose
Step 1 configure terminal Enter glob al co nfiguration mo de.
Step 2 cns co nfig par tial {ip-add ress | hostname} [port-number]
[source ip-address]Enable the configuration agent, and initiate a partial
configuration.
Fo r { ip-address | hostname}, enter the
IP address or the host name of the configuration
server.
(Optiona l) For port-number, ente r t he p ort
number of t he configuration server. The default
port numbe r is 80.
(Optional) Enter source ip-address to use for the
source IP a ddress.
Note Though visible in the command-line help
string, the encrypt keyw ord is not supported.
Step 3 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step 4 show cns config stats
or
show cns config outstanding
Verify information about the configuration agent.
Step 5 show running-config Verify y our ent rie s.
Step 6 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Sa ve your entries in the config uration file.
