either the standard software image (SI) or the enhanced software image (EI). The EI provides a richer set of
features, including access control lists (ACLs), enhanced quality of service (QoS) features, the Secure Shell
Protocol, extended-range VLANs, and Re mote Switch Por t Analyz er (RS PAN). For a list of switches that

RequirementsThis guide assumes that you have met the hardware and software requirements and
cluster compatibility requirements described in the release notes.
Start-up informationThis guid e assumes th at you have assi gned swit ch IP inform ation and
passwords by using the setu p program de scribe d in the releas e notes.
Cluster Ma nageme nt Suite (CM S) info rmation This guide provides an overview of the CMS

CMS field-level window description s and proc edures, re fer to th e CMS online he lp.
Cluster co nfigurationT his guide provides info rmati on about pla nning for, creating, and
maintaining switch clusters. Because configuring switch clusters is most easily performed through
CMS, this guide does not provide the command-line interface (CLI) procedures. For the cluster
comm ands, refe r to the c omman d refe rence for this rel ease.
CLI command informationThis guide provides an overview for using the CLI. For complete
