Create an IP standard or extended ACL for IP traff ic or a Layer 2 MAC
ACL for non-IP traffic, repeating the command as many times as
necessary.
For more inf orma tion, see t he Classifying Traffic by Using ACLs
section on p age 26- 16.
Note Deny statements are not supported for QoS ACLs. See the
Classification Based on QoS ACLs section on page 26-5 for
more details.
For more inf orm a tio n o n th e m ac a cc es s-l is t ex te nd ed nam e
command, see the Creating Named MAC Extended A CLs secti on on
page 25-18.
Step 3 policy-map policy-map-name Cr eat e a po licy m ap by e nte ring t he p ol icy ma p na me , an d e nte r
policy-map configuration mode.
By defau lt, no p oli cy maps ar e de fined.
The default behavior of a policy map is to set the DSCP to 0 if the
pack et is an IP packet a nd to se t the CoS to 0 if the pac ket is ta gged. No
policing i s performe d.
Step 4 class class-map-name [access-group name
acl-index-or-name]Def ine a traf fic classif ication, an d enter poli cy-map cla ss conf iguration
mode.
By defau lt, no pol icy ma p cl ass m ap s a re defined.
If a traf fic class has already been de fined by using the class-map global
configuration c om mand, sp eci fy i ts nam e fo r class-map-name in this
command.
For access- group name acl-index-or-name, specify th e number or name
of the ACL created in Step 2.
Note In a policy map, the class named class-de fault is not supported.
The switch does not filter traffic based on the policy map
defined by t he cl ass class-default pol icy-ma p con figurat ion
command.
