Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure the hello time for all MST
instances:

Configuring the Forwarding-Delay Time

Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure the forwarding-delay time for all
MST inst ance s:
To return the switch to its default setting, use the no spanning-tree mst forward-time glob al
configurati on comm a nd.
Command Purpose
Step 1 configure terminal Enter gl obal configurat ion mode.
Step 2 spanning-tree mst hello-time seconds Conf igure the hello time for all MST instances. The hello time
is the int erval between t he genera tion of configura tion
mes sag es by the ro ot swi tch. Th ese mess ages me an tha t th e
switch is alive.
For seconds, the range is 1 to 10; the default is 2.
Step 3 end Retur n to privileged EXEC mode .
Step 4 show spanning-tree mst Verify your ent ries.
Step 5 copy running-config startup-config (Optio nal) Save you r entries in the con figuration file.

delay is the number of seconds a port waits before changing from
its spanni ng-tre e learning an d listeni ng states to the forwarding
state.
For seconds, the range is 4 to 30; the default is 15.
