Enabling the CNS Event Agent

Note You must enable the CNS event agent on the switch before you enable the CNS configuration agent.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to enable the CNS event agent on the switch:

Step 2 cns event {ip-address | hostname} [port-number] [backup]
[init-retry retry-count] [ keepalive seconds retry-count]
[source ip-address]
Enable the event agent, and enter the gateway
parameters.
Fo r { ip-address | hostname}, enter either the
IP address or the host name of the ev ent ga tewa y .
(Optiona l) For port number, enter the port
number for the event gateway. The de fault p ort
number is 11 011.
(Option al) En te r backup to show that this is the
backup gateway. (If omitted, this is the primary
gateway.)
(Optiona l) For init-retry retry-count, enter the
number of initial retries before switching to
backup. T he de fau lt is 3.
(Optiona l) For keepalive seconds, enter how
often the sw itch sends keepal ive messages. For
retry-count, ente r t he nu mb er of u nan sw er ed
keepali ve messages that the switch sends before
the conne ctio n is termi nated . The de fault for
each is 0.
(Optiona l) For source ip-address, enter the
source I P a dd ress o f this device.
Note Though visible in the command-line help
string, the encrypt and force-fmt1 keywords
are not supp orted.
Step 3 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step 4 show cns event connections Verify information about the event agent.
Step 5 show running-confi g Verify y our ent ries.
Step 6 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Sa ve your entries in the config uration file.
