In gener a l, pr ofiles are na med f or th e d ata ra te th at yo u expe ct t o ac hieve and not t he gr oss da ta rate as
given in the tabl e. All sy stem-de fined profiles have the prefix LRE, fo llowed by the downstr eam user
data rate and then the upstream user data rate. If the profile is symmetric, only one data rate is given.
The two pro files defined t o comply wit h public frequency usage plan s 998 and 997 (LRE-998-15-4 a nd
LRE- 997-10- 4) are excep tio ns to thi s. The se two u nique ly na med pro files work in a ny private
deployment.
If you are not using seque nces and you have not assigne d a profile to an LRE po rt, the port has a
default value of LRE- 10. Port profiles have priority over global profiles. If you assign a gl obal
prof i le to th e switc h, the swit ch u ses the glo bal pro file excep t on a ny LRE po rts on wh ich a specific
profile was assign ed .
When you a ssign a d ifferent pro file to a swi tch LR E por t , th e por t imme dia tely re se ts an d u ses t he
newly assigned pro file.
