[level severity-level | all] [limit number-of-buffers] line configuration command.

Enabling and Disabling Timestamps on Log Messages

By default, log messages are not timestamped.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to enable timestamping of log messages:

Enable log timestamps.
The first com m and en ab le s t imes ta mp s o n lo g m es s ag es,
showing the time since the system was rebooted.
The second command enables timestamps on log messages.
Depending on the options selected, the timestamp can
include the date, time in milliseconds relative to the local
time zone , and the ti me zone na me.
Step 3 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step 4 show running-config Verify your entries.
Step 5 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.
