Figure 14-5 shows a ne twork with a VMPS serve r switch and V MPS client switches with dynamic p orts.

In this example, these assumptions apply:

The VMPS server and the VMPS client are separate switches.
The Catal yst 5000 serie s Switc h 1 is the primar y VMPS server.
The Catalyst 5000 series Swi tch 3 and Switch 10 a re secondary VMPS servers.
The end stations are connected to these clients:
