Supplied parameters are:

node_name

Name of the SNAplus2 node to be defined. The name must match the computer name of the server where the node runs.

In a command issued to the snapadmin program, this parameter is optional; if you specify it, it must match the node name to which the command is issued (specified using the -ncommand-line option).

If the computer name includes a . (period) character, SNAplus2 assumes that it is a fully-qualified name; otherwise it performs a DNS lookup to determine the computer name.

description

A text string describing the node. SNAplus2 uses this string for information only. It is stored in the node’s configuration file and returned on the query_node command.

node_type

Type of the node. Possible values are:

LEN_NODE

Low entry networking (LEN) node

END_NODE

APPN end node

NETWORK_NODE

APPN network node

BRANCH_NETWORK_NODE

APPN branch network node

fqcp_name

Fully qualified CP name of the node. The name is a type-A character string, consisting of 1–8 character network name, a period character, and a 1–8 character control point (CP) name.

cp_alias

Locally used LU alias for the control point (CP) LU. This alias can be used by APPC applications to access the CP LU. This alias is a string of 1–8 characters.
