Administration Commands

define_sdlc_port

link_conn_timer

The link connection timer. This parameter is used in conjunction with the value of the link_conn_timer_retry parameter to provide the time interval after which SNAplus2 fails an attempt to activate an LS because it has not detected that DSR has been raised. The timer is specified in milliseconds.

link_conn_timer_retry

The link connection timer retry limit specifies the number of times to test for link connection before failing an attempt to activate an LS.

A value of 65,535 indicates an unlimited retry count. A value of 1 indicates that the port is assumed to have failed after the timer expires the first time.

pri_fdplx

Specifies whether the primary SDLC station on this link supports full-duplex. Possible values are:

YES

The primary station supports full-duplex. You must set the opt1 parameter to FULL_DUPLEX.

NO

The primary station does not support full-duplex.

sec_fdplx

Specifies whether the secondary SDLC station (or stations) on the link supports full-duplex. Possible values are:

YES

The secondary station supports full-duplex. You must set the opt1 parameter to FULL_DUPLEX.

NO

The secondary station does not support full-duplex.

If both pri_fdplx and sec_fdplx are set to YES, then the primary station can transmit to the secondary station even when the secondary station has the poll bit. If pri_fdplx is set to YES, then the primary station can transmit to one secondary station when a different secondary station has the poll bit.

A secondary station can transmit only when it has the poll bit, even when the primary station and secondary station support full-duplex.

use_rej

Specifies whether SNAplus2 can send a REJ frame after receiving an I-frame with a sequence number that was not valid on this port. (SNAplus2 always accepts a REJ frame, regardless of the setting of this parameter.) Possible values are:

YES

SNAplus2 can send a REJ frame.

NO

SNAplus2 cannot send a REJ frame; instead, it requests retransmission of frames through RR, RNR or I-frames.

Use of REJ is only beneficial when a full-duplex protocol operation is being used. Some SDLC stations may not recognize the REJ command; to connect to them, the value NO must be set.

spec_port_type

Type of dial-out and auto-answer capabilities supported by the port.

For a leased line (port_type parameter is set to PORT_NONSWITCHED), specify the following value:

205
