Administration Commands

define_sdlc_ls

If the LS is a leased SDLC link, you are recommended to set this parameter to a non-zero value to ensure that the link is always available.

restart_on_normal_deact

Specifies whether SNAplus2 should attempt to reactivate the LS if it is deactivated normally by the remote system. Possible values are:

YES

If the remote system deactivates the LS normally, SNAplus2 attempts to reactivate it, using the same retry timer and count values as for reactivating a failed LS (the react_timer and react_timer_retry parameters above).

NO

If the remote system deactivates the LS normally, SNAplus2 does not attempt to reactivate it.

If the LS is a host link (specified by the adj_cp_type parameter), or is automatically started when the node is started (the initially_active parameter is set to YES), this parameter is ignored; SNAplus2 always attempts to reactivate the LS if it is deactivated normally by the remote system (unless react_timer_retry is zero).

contact_timer

Timeout required before a SNRM or XID is retransmitted in the event of nonacknowledgment (used for primary SDLC only). This value must be greater than the no response (T1) timeout value no_resp_timer. The contact_timer parameter is specified in milliseconds.

This timer is also used for special pre-activation polling.

contact_timer_retry

Number of times transmission and retransmission of a contact frame (such as SNRM) is allowed using the timeout specified on the contact_timer parameter before SNAplus2 changes to the timeout specified on contact_timer2.

Specify a value in the range 165,535. A value of 65,535 indicates an unlimited retry count. A value of 1 indicates that the switch to the slow poll should be made after the first timer expires.

contact_timer2

Slow poll contact timer, in milliseconds. When the contact timer retry count expires, SNAplus2 continues to poll using this timer. This prevents leased (multi-drop) links from being flooded by poll frames for absent stations. This value should be greater than the value specified on the contact_timer parameter.

contact_timer_retry2

The slow poll contact timer retry—the number of times transmission and retransmission of a contact frame (such as SNRM) is allowed on the slow cycle before the link is assumed to have failed.

Specify a value in the range 165,535. A value of 65,535 indicates an unlimited retry count. A value of 1 indicates that the link is assumed to have failed after the slow poll timer first expires.

disc_timer

Timeout required before a DISC is retransmitted in the event of nonacknowledgment (used for primary SDLC only). The timer is specified in milliseconds.

The default value 10,000 define_sdlc_port set to may be required.

(10 seconds) is intended for use with leased lines (with port_type in PORT_NONSWITCHED). For switched lines, a lower value such as 1000

disc_timer_retry

Disconnect timer retry (the number of times transmission and retransmission of a DISC is allowed).

Specify a value in the range 165,535. A value of 65,535 indicates an unlimited retry count. A value of 1 indicates that the link is assumed to have failed after the timer first expires.
