PARTNER MAIL Services

The mail system provides three services:

Automated Attendant Service answers calls on specified lines and routes the calls to pre-defined destinations or destinations that callers select from a menu of choices.

Call Answer Service picks up unanswered calls and transfers them to pre-defined mailboxes.

Voice Mail Service enables a subscriber (a person who owns or has responsibility for a mailbox) to retrieve messages and to send messages to other subscribers.

The mail system can operate in English (North American), French (Canadian), and Spanish (Latin American). All services can be implemented in one language (monolingual mode) or in two languages (bilingual mode). In bilingual mode, one of the languages must be English; callers can choose which of the two languages they want to hear. For more information, see Language.

Figure 1-1shows the main features associated with each service. A description of the services and their associated features follows the illustration.
