Troubleshooting

Outcalling is not working—continued

Possible Cause

Corrective Action

The communications system extension connected to the mail system Outcalling port is restricted.

Check the communications system Outgoing Call Restriction (#401), Disallowed Phone Number Lists (#404), Disallowed List Assignment (#405), Allowed Phone Number Lists (#407), and Allowed List Assignment (#408) settings.

The modular cord connecting the mail system Outcalling port to the communications system 206 module is loose.

Check the connections between the Outcalling port and the 206 module:

On a two-port system, check the connection to port 2.

On a four-port system, check the connection to port 4.

On a six-port system, check the connections to ports 5 and 6.

If the problem occurs during times of heavy call traffic, there may be insufficient touch-tone receivers on the communications system modules, or there may be a defective touch-tone receiver.

Call for support as described on page 6-5.
