Syntax Description for External Controller
Note Currently, the switch does not support a n exter n al co nt r ol ler.
cntrlrType A number in the range 13 that identifies a network controller. For internal
controllers, the numbers are rese rved, as follows:
1 = PAR (Portable AutoRoute)currently not used
2 = PNNI
3 = LSC (Label Switch Contro ll er, also k n own as MP L S f or M u lt ip rotocol Label
Switch Controller)currently not used
Note For an internal controller, the c ontr o ll er ty p e ( cn trlrType) must be the
same as the controller ID ( cn trlrId).
lslot The logical slot number on which the controller resides. For the PXM45, lslot is 7
regardless of which card is active.
cntrlrName (Optional) A string to serve as a name for the controller.
cntrlrId A number in the range 420 that identifies a controller. (cntrlrId 13 is reserved for
PAR, PNNI, and MPLS/LSC, respectivel y.) For exte rnal controllers, cntrlrId can
differ from cntrlrType.
xKeyword indicating that this controller is external.
cntrlrType A number in the range 13 that identifies the controller:

Switch Controller)currently not used
lslot The number of the slot that has the virtual connection through which the controller
operates. The ranges are 16 and 916.
bay Applies to only external controllers. Upper or lower position of the back card. Type a
1 for upper bay or a 2 for lower bay.
line Applies to only external controllers. A number specifying the physical line number.
The range is 1 through the highest number of lines on the back card. See Table 3- 1
for a list.
