Standby State
When you enable online diagnostics on a standby AXSM card, the following tests run:
•Crossbar loopback walk test on QE, Humvee, and Crossbar paths
•Back card loopback test on T3/E3 lines
Offline Diagnostics
Offline diagnostics are destructive te sts ( t ha t i nterfere with active traffic) and therefor e r u n only on
standby cards.
Offline diagnostics mus t be scheduled using the o ffline start (offStart) and offline day-of-week (offDow)
parameters. The cover age (offCover) parameter s p eci fies th e l en gt h of t ime th at the offline diagnostics
will run.
Note When an active card fails, the shelf manager must stop the diagnostics on the standby card
immediately, reset, and allow normal arbitration to occur.
When offline diagnostics is enable and scheduled, numerous tests may be run depending on the
implementation. The possible tests that may be run on the PXM45 and AXSM cards are listed in the
following sections.
