cnfpnportsig
Configure Port Signalingspecify ATM signaling parameters on a PNNI port.
Before you can execute cnfpnportsig, the port must be down (by dnpnport). For a UNI or an NNI, the
type of interface you specify o n th e c on tr o ll er mu st match the interface type th at yo u co nfigu r e o n th e
slave (the service module). On the service module, you need specify UNI, NNI, or VNNI, but the
cnfpnportsig command has options for spe cifying the version of an inte rface type and other parameters
that apply to signaling. See th e Sy n tax D es c r ip tio n .

Syntax Description
portid The portid is the PNNI physical port. Th e f o rm at is
[shelf.]slot[:subslot].port[:subport]. See also PNNI Format, page 6-4.
-univer The UNI version: uni30, uni31, none. Note that univer and nniver are mutually
exclusiveso th e i nt er fac e a t e ach end of the connection mus t h ave th e s ame
interface type. Also, the port type on the PNN I con tr o lle r must be the same as on the
slave (through addport ... ifType on the AXSM, for example).
The default for this parameter is UNI 3. 1. If this version is sufficient, you can forego
this parameter. Howe ve r, to change a UNI version, the port mus t be do w n. Re member
to up the port by using th e uppnport co mm a nd after completing the cnfpnportsig
command.
The none choice applies to any port that does not need to run SSCOP protocol (for
example, SPVC endpoints).
Default: uni31
