crm The cell rate margin (CRM) is a measure of the di ffe renc e be tween

the effective bandwidth allocation an d the allocation for sustainable

cell rate. It is a safety margin all oc ate d above the aggregate

sustainable cell rate for nrt-VBR and rt-VBR. This feature has little

impact on traffic management.

The ATM Forum does not require support fo r CRM, and Cis co

Systems currently does not support it on the Cisco MGX 8850 and

SES products.

vf The variance factor (VF) is a relative measure of the square of the

cell rate margin (CRM) no rmalized by the variance of the sum of the

cell rates of all existing connec tions. VF applies to nrt-VB R an d

rt-VBR, but it has little impact on traffic management.
