cnfname
Configure Name—specifies a name for the node.
The case-sensitive node name must begin w it h a l ett er. It can in cl ud e:
•Up to 32 letters or numbers
•Two special characters (“_” and “-”)
•No spaces
After you enter the name, the system prompts you for confirmation. To see the configured name, execute
dspcds (or many of the other node-level display commands): the node name is the first item in the
display.

Configure the node name to be “MGX8850.” The system requests you to confirm the name. The C LI
prompt returns with the new nam e. In this example, however, the name as it ap p ear s i n th e prompt is
truncated to eight character s b ecau se of space limitations for inf o rm ati on d is p la ye d in th e prompt.
NODENAME.7.PXM.a > cnfname MGX8850
This node name will be changed to MGX8850. Please Confirm
