Down Port
The dnport command disables (or downs) a logi cal port and thereby halts all traffic on the logical port.
The usual purpose for using dnport is troubleshooting. The configuration for the port remains intact
whether the logical p ort is a UNI or an NN I . T he command for enablin g a downed port is upport.
For an NNI, the PXM45 de-routes th e f ail ed c onn ect io ns th en re -ro utes t he m th rou gh oth er tru nks. Af te r
you re-enable an NNI port through upport, you cannot return the re-routed connections to the upped
port. The PXM45 routes connectio n s over t he tr u nk as ne ed ed .
On a UNI, the connections con ti nu e t o exi st, but remain in the failed state un t il yo u en ab le the port by
executing upport.

Disable port 1 on the current card.

ifNum A logical port (interface) nu mber. Only one logical port is allowed if the line operates
as a UNI or NNI. For the virtual network to netwo rk i nt erfa ce (VN NI), mult ipl e po rts
can exist on a line. For AXSM, the range 160.
Use dspports or dspport as needed to determine the need to d isa ble a port.
