firmwarepackage.
Upgrade ActionsMaintenance PolicyService Profile
Afteryou update the firmware package, do one of
thefollowing:
• Toreboot and upgrade some or all servers
simultaneously,follow the procedure in the
CiscoUCS Manager configuration guides for
theappropriate release to add the firmware
packageto one or more service profiles that
areassociated with serversor toan updating
serviceprofile template.
• Toreboot and upgrade one server at a time,
dothe followingfor eachserver:
1Createa new service profile and include
thefirmware package in thatservice
profile.
2Dissociatethe server fromits service
profile.
3Associatethe server with the new service
profile.
4Afterthe server has been rebooted and the
firmwareupgraded, disassociate the server
fromthe new service profile and associate
itwith itsoriginal service profile.
Ifthe originalservice profile
includesa scrub policy,this
proceduremay result in data
losswhen the disk or the BIOS
isscrubbed upon association
withthe newservice profile.

Nomaintenance
policy
Hostor managementfirmware
packageis not included in a
serviceprofile or anupdating
serviceprofile template.

Youwant to upgrade the
firmwarewithout making any
changesto the existingservice
profileor updating service
profiletemplate.
