Decommissioning a Chassis

Procedure

Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Equipment tab.

Step 2 Onthe Equipment tab, expand Equipment >Chassis.

Step 3 Choosethe chassis that you wantto decommission.

Step 4 Inthe Work pane, click the General tab.

Step 5 Inthe Actions area, clickDecommission Chassis.

Step 6 IfCisco UCS ManagerGUI displaysa confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

Thedecommission may takeseveral minutes to complete.After the chassishas beenremoved from the

configuration,Cisco UCS Manager adds the chassis to the Decommissioned tab.

Removing a Chassis

Before You Begin

Physicallyremove the chassis before performing the following procedure.

Procedure

Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Equipment tab.

Step 2 Onthe Equipment tab, expand Equipment >Chassis.

Step 3 Choosethe chassis that you wantto remove.

Step 4 Inthe Work pane, click the General tab.

Step 5 Inthe Actions area, clickRemove Chassis.

Step 6 IfCisco UCS Managerdisplays a confirmation dialog box, clickYes.

Theremoval may takeseveral minutes to complete.

Recommissioning a Single Chassis

Thisprocedure returns the chassis to the configuration and applies the chassis discovery policy to the chassis.

Afterthis procedure, you can access the chassis and any servers in it.
