a) Completethe following fields to specify the identity information for the vHBA:
DescriptionName
Thename of thisvHBA.
Thisname can be between 1 and 16 alphanumeric characters. You
cannotuse spaces or any special characters other than - (hyphen), _
(underscore),: (colon), and . (period), and you cannot change this
nameafter the object has beensaved.
Namefield
Checkthis check box if you want to use a template to create the
vHBA.Cisco UCS ManagerGUI displays the vHBA Template
drop-downlist fromwhich you can select the appropriate template,
andthe Adapter PerformanceProfile area from which you can
selectan adapter profile.
Youcan only select this option if one or more SAN
connectivitytemplates exist in thesystem.

•Usethe default WWPN pool, leave this field set to Select (pool
defaultused by default).
•Usethe WWPN assigned to the server by the manufacturer,

20:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX,or
5X:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XXand enter the WWPN in the
WWPNfield. To verify that this WWPN is available, click the
correspondinglink.
•AWWPN from a pool, select the pool name from the list. Each
poolname is followed by a pair of numbers in parentheses. The
firstnumber is the number of available WWN addresses in the
pooland the second is the total number of WWPN addresses in
thepool.
Tocreate a new WWPN pool, click Create WWPN Pool.
