ServerPool
Navigateto the desired available server in the navigation tree and select the server
whichwill be assignedto the serviceprofile.
Continuewith Step 7.
Server
Specifiesthe chassis and slot that contains the server that will be assignedto the
serviceprofile. If the server is not in the slot or is otherwise unavailable, the service
profilewill beassociated with the serverwhen itbecomes available.
Continuewith Step 6.
CustomServer
Step 6 Ifyou choseCustom Server, do the following:
a) In the Chassis Id field, enter the number of the chassis where the selected server is located.
b) In the Server Id field, enter the number of the slot where the selected server is located.
Step 7 Ifyou want to restrict the migration of the service profile after it has been associated with a server, check the
RestrictMigration. check box.
Ifyou choosenot to restrict migration, Cisco UCS Manager does not perform any compatibility checks on
thenew server before migrating the existing service profile. If the hardware of both servers are not similar,
theassociation might fail.
Step 8 ClickOK.
Disassociating a Service Profile from a Server or Server Pool
Whenyou disassociatea service profile,Cisco UCS Managerattempts to shutdownthe operatingsystem on
theserver. If the operating system does not shutdown within a reasonable length of time, Cisco UCS Manager
forcesthe server to shutdown.
Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Servers tab.
Step 2 Onthe Servers tab, expand Servers >Service Profiles.
Step 3 Expandthe node for theorganization that contains the service profile that you want to disassociate from a
serveror server pool.
Ifthe system does not includemultitenancy, expand the root node.
