WWPN Pools
AWWPN pool is a WWN pool that contains only WW port names. If you include a pool of WWPNs in a
serviceprofile, the port on each vHBA of the associated server is assigned a WWPN from that pool.

Creating a WWNN Pool

AWWN pool can include only WWNNs or WWPNs in the ranges from 20:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 to
20:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FFor from 50:00:00:00:00:00:00:00to 5F:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF.All other
WWNranges are reserved. To ensure the uniqueness of the Cisco UCS WWNNs and WWPNs in the SAN
fabric,we recommend that you use thefollowing WWN prefix for allblocks in a pool:
20:00:00:25:B5:XX:XX:XX

Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe SAN tab.
Step 2 Inthe SAN tab, expandSAN >Pools.
Step 3 Expandthe node for theorganization where you want to create the pool.
Ifthe system does not includemultitenancy, expand the root node.
Step 4 Right-clickWWNN Pools and select Create WWNN Pool.
Step 5 Inthe Define Nameand Descriptionpage of the Create WWNN Pool wizard:
a) Enter a unique name and description for the WWNN Pool.
Thisname can be between 1 and 16 alphanumeric characters. You cannot use spaces or any special
charactersother than - (hyphen), _ (underscore), : (colon), and . (period), and you cannot change this name
afterthe object has beensaved.
b) Click Next.
Step 6 Inthe Add WWN Blocks page of the CreateWWNN Pool wizard, click Add.
Step 7 Inthe Create WWN Block page, complete the following fields:
a) In the From field, enter the first WWNN in the pool.
b) In the Size field, enter the number of WWNNs to include in the pool.
c) Click OK.
Step 8 Doone ofthe following:
RepeatSteps 6 through 7 to addanother block to the pool.
ClickNext to move to the next page.
Step 9 ClickFinish.
