ClickNext to configure the port mode for ports in expansion module 2.
Ifyou do not wish to configure the port mode for ports on the remaining expansion modules, continue
withStep 9.
Ifyou changethe port modefor a previouslyconfigured port, the port returns to anunconfigured state.
Step 8 Ifyou need to configure port modes for expansion module 3, repeat Step 7.
Step 9 ClickFinish to save your port modeconfiguration.
Dependingupon the module for which you configured the port modes, data traffic for the Cisco UCS domain
isinterrupted as follows:
• Fixed module—The fabric interconnect reboots. All data traffic through that fabric interconnect is
interrupted.In a clusterconfiguration that provides high availabilityand includes servers with vNICs
thatare configured for failover,traffic fails over to the other fabric interconnect and no interruption
occurs.
Ittakes about 8 minutes for the fixed module to reboot.
• Expansion module—The module reboots. All data trafficthrough ports inthat module is interrupted.
Ittakes about 1minute for the expansionmodule to reboot.
Configuring the Beacon LEDs for Unified Ports
Completethe following task for each module for whichyou want toconfigure beacon LEDs.
Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Equipment tab.
Step 2 Onthe Equipment tab, expand Equipment >Fabric Interconnects >Fabric_Interconnect_Name.
Step 3 Dependingupon the location of the unified ports for which you want to configure the beacon LEDs, click on
oneof thefollowing:
FixedModule
ExpansionModule
Step 4 Inthe Work pane, click the General tab.
Step 5 Inthe Properties area, click one of the following radio buttons in the Beacon LED field:
Off—Allphysical LEDs are off.
Eth—Thephysical LEDs nextto all Ethernet ports areon.
Fc—Thephysical LEDs next to allFibre Channel ports areon.
Step 6 ClickSave Changes.
