CiscoUCS Manager GUI displaysthe vNIC Templatedrop-down
listfrom whichyou canselect the appropriatetemplate, and the
AdapterPerformance Profile area from which you can select an
adapterprofile.
Youcan only select this option if one or more LAN
connectivitytemplates exist in thesystem.

Ifyou wantto:
Usethe default MAC address pool, leave this field set to Select
(pooldefault used by default).
Usethe MAC address assigned to the server by the
manufacturer,select Hardware Default.
Aspecific MAC address,select 02:25:B5:XX:XX:XX and
enterthe address in the MAC Address field. To verify that this
addressis available,click the corresponding link.
AMAC address from a pool, select the pool name from the list.
Eachpool name is followed by a pair of numbers in parentheses.
Thefirst number is the number of available MAC addresses in
thepool and thesecond is the total number of MAC addresses
inthe pool.

Ifyou wantthis vNIC to be able to access the second fabric
interconnectif the default one is unavailable, check the Enable
Failovercheck box.
Donot enablefabric failover for thevNIC underthe
followingcircumstances:

Ifthe Cisco UCS domain is running in Ethernet Switch
Mode.vNIC fabric failover is not supported in that
mode.If all Ethernet uplinks on one fabric interconnect
fail,the vNICs do not fail over to the other.
ifyou planto associatethis vNIC witha serverthat
hasan adapter which does not support fabric failover,
suchas the Cisco UCS 82598KR-CI 10-Gigabit
EthernetAdapter. If you do so, Cisco UCS Manager
generatesa configuration fault when you associate the
serviceprofile with the server.
