Configuring Server Pool Policies
Server Pool Policy
Thispolicy is invoked during the server discovery process. It determines what happens if server pool policy
qualificationsmatch a server to the target pool specified in the policy.
Ifa serverqualifies for more than one pool and thosepools have server pool policies,the server is added to
allthose pools.
Creating a Server Pool Policy
Before You Begin
Thispolicy requires that one or moreof thefollowing resources already exist in the system:
• A minimum of one server pool
• Server pool policy qualifications, if you choose to have servers automaticallyadded to pools
Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Servers tab.
Step 2 Onthe Servers tab, expand Servers >Policies.
Step 3 Expandthe node for theorganization where you want to create the policy.
Ifthe system does not includemultitenancy, expand the root node.
Step 4 Right-clickServer Pool Policies and selectCreate Server Pool Policy.
Step 5 Inthe Create Server Pool Policy dialog box, complete the following fields:
DescriptionName
Thename of thepolicy.
Thisname can be between 1 and 16 alphanumeric characters. You
cannotuse spaces or any special characters other than - (hyphen), _
(underscore),: (colon), and . (period), and you cannot change this name
afterthe object has beensaved.
Namefield
Adescription of the policy. Werecommend that you include information
aboutwhere and when the policy should be used.
Enterup to 256 characters. You can use any characters or spaces except
^(carat), \ (backslash),> (greater than), <(less than), ' (singlequote),
"(double quote), ` (accentmark), or = (equal sign).
Descriptionfield
Ifyou wantto associatethis policy with a server pool, select that pool
fromthe drop-down list.
