BIOSSettings Scrub
Oneof the following occurs to the BIOS settings when a service profile containing the scrub policy is
disassociatedfrom a server:
• If enabled, erases all BIOS settings for the server and and resets them to the BIOS defaults for
thatserver type and vendor
• If disabled, preserves the existing BIOS settings on the server
Creating a Scrub PolicyProcedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Servers tab.
Step 2 Onthe Servers tab, expand Servers >Policies.
Step 3 Expandthe node for theorganization where you want to create the policy.
Ifthe system does not includemultitenancy, expand the root node.
Step 4 Right-clickScrub Policies and selectCreate Scrub Policy.
Step 5 Inthe Create Scrub Policy wizard, complete the following fields:
DescriptionName
Thename of thepolicy.
Thisname can be between 1 and 16 alphanumeric characters. You
cannotuse spaces or any special characters other than - (hyphen), _
(underscore),: (colon), and . (period), and you cannot change this name
afterthe object has beensaved.
Namefield
Adescription of the policy. Werecommend that you include information
aboutwhere and when the policy should be used.
Enterup to 256 characters. You can use any characters or spaces except
^(carat), \ (backslash),> (greater than), <(less than), '(single quote),
"(double quote), ` (accentmark), or = (equal sign).
Descriptionfield
Ifthis fieldis set to Yes,when a service profile containing this scrub
policyis disassociated from a server, all data on the server local drives
iscompletely erased. If this field is set to No, the data on the local drives
ispreserved, including all localstorage configuration.
DiskScrub field
Ifthe fieldis set to Yes,when a service profile containing this scrub
policyis disassociated from a server, the BIOS settings for that server
areerased and reset to the defaults for that server type and vendor. If
thisfield is set toNo, theBIOS settingsare preserved.
