Resetting the WWPN Assigned to a vHBA from a Pool in a Service Profile Template
Ifyou changethe WWPN pool assigned to an updating service profile template, Cisco UCS Manager does
notchange the WWPN assigned to a service profile created with that template. If you want Cisco UCS Manager
toassign a WWPN from the newly assigned pool to the service profile, and therefore to the associated server,
youmust resetthe WWPN. You can only reset the WWPN assigned to a service profile and its associated
serverunder the followingcircumstances:
Theservice profile was created from an updating service profile template and includes a WWPN assigned
froma WWPNpool.
• The WWPN pool name is specified in the service profile. For example, the pool nameis not empty.
• The WWPN value is not 0, and is therefore not derived from the server hardware.
Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Servers tab.
Step 2 Onthe Servers tab, expand Servers >Service Profiles.
Step 3 Expandthe node for the organization that contains the service profile for which you want to reset the WWPN.
Ifthe system does not includemultitenancy, expand the root node.
Step 4 Expand Service_Profile_Name >vHBAs.
Step 5 Clickthe vHBA for which you wantto reset the WWPN.
Step 6 Inthe Work pane, click the General tab.
Step 7 Inthe Actions area, clickReset WWPN.
Step 8 Ifthe CiscoUCS Manager GUI displays a confirmationdialog box, click Yes.
Step 9 ClickOK.
Clearing Persistent Binding for a vHBA
Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Servers tab.
Step 2 Onthe Servers tab, expand Servers >Service Profiles.
Step 3 Expandthe node for the organization that contains the service profile for which you want to modify the vHBA.
Step 4 Expand Service_Profile_Name >vHBAs.
Step 5 Clickthe vHBA for which you wantto clear the persistent binding.
Step 6 Inthe Work pane, click the General tab.
Step 7 Inthe Actions area, clickClear Persistent Binding.
Step 8 Ifthe CiscoUCS Manager GUI displays a confirmationdialog box, click Yes.
