Step 4 Toadd a Serial over LAN policy to the service profile, do one of the following:
•Toadd an existing policy, select the desired Serial over LAN policy from the SoL Configuration Profile
drop-downlist.
• Tocreate a Serial over LAN policy that is only available to service profile created from this template,
selectCreate a Specific SoL Policy from the SoL Configuration Profile drop-down list and complete
theAdmin State field and theSpeed drop-down list.
• Tocreate a Serial over LAN policy that is available to all service profile templates, click the Create
Serialover LAN Policy link, complete the fields in the dialog box, and then select that policy from the
SoLConfiguration Profile drop-down list.

Step 5 Toconfigure the management IP required for external access to the CIMC on the server, click the down arrows
toexpand the Management IP Addressbar and do the following:
a) Click one of the following radio buttons:
•None—Nomanagement IP addressis assigned to the service profile. The management IP address
isset based on theCIMC management IP address settings on the server.
•Static—Astatic management IP address is assigned to the service profile, based on the information
enteredin this area.
•Pooled—Amanagement IP address is assigned to the service profile from the management IP address
pool.
b) Ifyou selected static, complete the following fields:

Step 6 Tomonitor thresholds and collect statistics for the associated server, click the down arrows to expand the
MonitoringConfiguration (Thresholds) bar and do one of the following:
• Toadd an existing policy, select the desired threshold policy from the Threshold Policy drop-down
list.
• Tocreate a threshold policy that is available to all service profiles, click the Create Threshold Policy
link,complete the fields in the dialog box, and then select that policy from the Threshold Policy
drop-downlist.
