Procedure
Step 1 (Optional) If you plan to assign service profiles created from this template to a server with an adapter that
supportsdynamic vNICs, choose one of the following options from the Dynamic vNIC Connection drop-down
list:

Enablesyou to create a service profile template without a dynamic vNIC
connectionpolicy for a server with an adapter that does not support dynamic
vNICs.This optiondoes notinclude adynamic vNIC connectionpolicy in
thetemplate.
Ifyou are configuring this service profile/template for iSCSI boot, choose
thisoption.
Continuewith Step 4.
Selecta Policy touse
Enablesyou to createa dynamic vNIC connection policy that can only be
accessedby this serviceprofile template.
Continuewith Step 2.
Createa Specific Dynamic
vNICConnection Policy
Selectan existing dynamic vNIC connection policy from the list at the bottom
ofthe drop-down list. Cisco UCS Manager assigns this policy to the service
profiletemplate.
Ifyou do not want use any of the existing policies, but instead want to create
apolicy that all service profiles and templates can access, continue with Step
3.Otherwise, continue withStep 4.

Step 2 (Optional) Ifyou clickedCreate a Specific Dynamic vNIC Connection Policy, do the following to create
anew dynamicvNIC connection policy that can only beused by service profiles createdfrom thistemplate:
a) Complete the following fields:
DescriptionName
Thenumber of dynamicvNICs thatthis policy affects.Numberof Dynamic vNICs field
Theadapter profile associated with this policy. The profile must
alreadyexist to be included in the drop-down list.
AdapterPolicy drop-down list
b) Continue with Step 4.
Step 3 (Optional) To create a dynamic vNIC connection policy that will be available to all service profiles and
templates,do the following:
a) Click Create Dynamic vNIC Connection Policy.
b) In the Create Dynamic vNIC Connect Policy dialog box, complete the fields.
Formore information,see the CiscoUCS ManagerVM-FEX configuration guides.
c) Click OK.
d) From the Dynamic vNIC Connection drop-down list, choose the policy you created.
