Pre-Login Banner

Witha pre-login banner, when a user logs into Cisco UCS Manager GUI, Cisco UCS Manager displays the

bannertext in the CreatePre-Login Banner dialog box and waits until the user dismisses that dialog box

beforeit prompts for the username and password. When a user logs into Cisco UCS Manager CLI, Cisco UCS

Managerdisplays the banner text in adialog box andwaits for theuser todismiss that dialog box beforeit

promptsfor the password. It then repeats the banner text above the copyright block that it displays to the user.

Creating the Pre-Login Banner

Ifthe Pre-Login Banner area does not appear on the Banners tab, Cisco UCS Manager does not display a

pre-loginbanner when users log in. If the Pre-Login Banner area does appear, you cannot create a second

pre-loginbanner. You can only delete or modify the existing banner.

Procedure

Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Admin tab.

Step 2 Onthe Admin tab, expand All >User Management.

Step 3 Clickthe User Servicesnode.

Step 4 Inthe Work pane, click the Banners tab.

Step 5 Inthe Actions area, clickCreate Pre-Login Banner.

Step 6 Inthe Create Pre-Login Banner dialog box, click in the text field and enter the message that you want users

tosee when they log in to Cisco UCS Manager.

Youcan enter any standard ASCII character in this field.

Step 7 ClickOK.
