DescriptionName

Ifchecked, the server retains the configuration in the local disk

configurationpolicy even if the server is disassociated from the service

profile.

ProtectConfiguration becomes non-functional if one or more

disksin theserver aredefective or faulty.

Caution

Thisproperty is checkedby default.

Whena service profile is disassociated from a server and a new service

profileassociated, the setting for the Protect Configuration property in

thenew service profile takes precedence and overwrites the setting in

theprevious serviceprofile.

Ifyou disassociatethe serverfrom a serviceprofile withthis

optionenabled and then associate it with a new service profile

thatincludes a local disk configuration policy with different

properties,the server returnsa configurationmismatch error

andthe associationfails.

Changing a Local Disk Configuration Policy

Thisprocedure describes how to change a local disk configuration policy from an associated service profile.

Youcan also change a local disk configuration policy from the Policies node of the Servers tab.

Procedure

Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Servers tab.

Step 2 Onthe Servers tab, expand Servers >Service Profiles.

Step 3 Expandthe organization that includes the service service profile with the local disk configuration policy you

wantto change.

Ifthe system does not includemultitenancy, expand the root node.

Step 4 Clickthe service profile that contains the local disk configuration policy you want to change.

Step 5 Inthe Work pane, click the Policies tab.

Step 6 Inthe Actions area, clickChange Local Disk ConfigurationPolicy.

Step 7 Inthe Change LocalDisk ConfigurationPolicy dialog box, choose one of the following options from the

Selectthe Local Disk ConfigurationPolicy drop-down list.
