runningon the server, select 1.
•PlatformDefault—The BIOS uses the value for this
attributecontained in the BIOS defaults for the server type
andvendor.
Werecommend that you contact your operating system vendor
tomake surethe operatingsystem supports thisfeature.
CoreMulti Processing
Classifiesmemory areas onthe serverto specifywhere where
applicationcode can execute. As a result of this classification,
theprocessor disablescode execution ifa maliciousworm
attemptsto insert code in the buffer. This setting helps to prevent
damage,worm propagation, andcertain classes of malicious
bufferoverflow attacks. This can be one of the following:
•disabled—Theprocessor does not classify memory areas.
•enabled—Theprocessor classifies memory areas.
•PlatformDefault—The BIOS uses the value for this
attributecontained in the BIOS defaults for the server type
andvendor.
Werecommend that you contact your operating system vendor
tomake surethe operatingsystem supports thisfeature.
ExecuteDisabled Bit
Whetherthe processoruses IntelVirtualization Technology,
whichallows a platformto run multipleoperating systems and
applicationsin independent partitions. This can be one of the
following:
•disabled—Theprocessor does not permitvirtualization.
•enabled—Theprocessor allows multiple operating systems
inindependent partitions.
•PlatformDefault—The BIOS uses the value for this
attributecontained in the BIOS defaults for the server type
andvendor.
Ifyou change this option, you must power cycle the
serverbefore the settingtakes effect.
