Configuring Server Autoconfiguration Policies
Server Autoconfiguration Policy
CiscoUCS Manager uses this policy to determine how to configure a new server. If you create a server
autoconfigurationpolicy, the following occurs when a new server starts:
1Thequalification in the server autoconfiguration policy is executed against the server.
2Ifthe server meets the required qualifications, the server is associated with a service profile created from
theservice profile template configured in the server autoconfiguration policy. The name of that service
profileis based on the name given to the server by CiscoUCS Manager.
3Theservice profile is assigned to the organization configured in the server autoconfiguration policy.
Creating an Autoconfiguration Policy
Before You Begin
Thispolicy requires that one or moreof thefollowing resources already exist in the system:
• Server pool policy qualifications
• Service profile template
• Organizations,if asystem implementsmulti-tenancy
Procedure
Step 1 Inthe Navigation pane, clickthe Equipment tab.
Step 2 Onthe Equipment tab, click the Equipment node.
Step 3 Inthe Work pane, click the Policies tab.
Step 4 Clickthe Autoconfig Policiessubtab.
Step 5 Onthe icon bar tothe right of thetable, click +.
Ifthe +icon isdisabled, click an entryin the table to enableit.
Step 6 Inthe Create Autoconfiguration Policy dialog box, complete the following fields:
DescriptionName
Thename of thepolicy.
Thisname can be between 1 and 16 alphanumeric characters. You
cannotuse spaces or any special characters other than - (hyphen), _
(underscore),: (colon), and . (period), and you cannot change this name
afterthe object has beensaved.
