Provision GR-303 Service

Provision DS0s to Subscribers

provisioning GR-303 service. See also Provision DCS Service on page 9-1.

2.If drop DS0 settings are correct, skip remaining steps.

NOTE: GR-303 channels use robbed-bit signaling except when carrying ISDN BRI traffic.

3.Set DS0 type to "gr303" with the following command:

set ds0 <n:ch> type gr303

Example:

set ds0 13:1-16 type gr303

NOTE: The Access Navigator/GR-303 supports GR-303 Direct Inward Dial (DID) circuit concentration on GR-303 interface groups to switches such as the Lucent 5ESS. (Two-way DOD/DID is not supported.) If the switch does not support GR-303 DID services, the DID circuits can be groomed to a DS1 going to a DID shelf in the Central Office.

4.For GR-303 Direct Inward Dial (DID), set DS0 signal to "did" with the following command: set ds0 <n:ch> signal did

Example:

set ds0 13:2 signal did

NOTE: P-Phone service requires a remote Adit 600 on the drop DS1 and a Nortel DMS switch on the switch DS1. The remote device management must be set to CAIP with the P-Phone option enabled.

5.For P-Phone service to a remote Adit 600, set DS0 to P-Phone with the following command: set ds0 <n:ch> pphone

Example:

set ds0 13:3 pphone
