Access Navigator DS1 interfaces respond as follows:

1.Display red alarm status on Access Navigator

2.Return yellow alarm pattern (01000000) over same DS1

3.Forward all-ones alarm pattern (11111111) over the 24 DS0s

DS1 Failures

In the event of a DS1 failure, the Access Navigator / GR-303 sends an on-hook signal toward the switch for each affected DS0 to terminate the calls.

Event Log

In addition to recording alarm events, the Access Navigator maintains a log of the most recent 400 alarms and informational (info) events that do not affect service. The Access Navigator maintains a log of the following event types.

Log reports are available using the CLI log command (see Log on page 18-38). You can also filter the log reports to display only certain event types, as well as only equipment or DS1 events.

Syntax: log

Displays all log events except BERT, TMC, and Configuration change events.

Syntax: log <majorminoralertinfo>

Displays only alarms with a specified severity.
