Switch Controller

CAUTION! SWITCHING CONTROLLERS WILL DISRUPT CALL PROCESSING AND CALL DATA FLOW FOR A FEW MILLISECONDS, BUT NO ESTABLISHED CALLS WILL BE LOST.

Purpose: Transfers active control to the standby Controller card. This means the active card goes into standby, and the standby card becomes active. Switching will not occur if the standby Controller is missing or is not operational.

Security: Level 2 (operator)

Syntax: switch controller

Since the active card controls the CLI management session, the CLI will log the user out and terminate the session before switching to the standby card. When the user logs back in, the new session will be controlled by the now active Controller card.

Upload TFTP Config

CAUTION! CONFIGURATION FILES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE BETWEEN DIFFERENT SOFTWARE VERSIONS (INCLUDING OPTIONS SUCH AS DCS, GR-303,AND P-PHONE). SERVICE DISRUPTIONS CAN OCCUR IF A CONFIGURATION FILE CREATED BY ONE SOFTWARE VERSION IS DOWNLOADED TO AN ACCESS NAVIGATOR RUNNING A DIFFERENT VERSION.

Purpose: This is a Level 1 command that allows a network manager to read the Access Navigator configuration database from flash memory and save the settings in file format. This file may be used as a backup copy of the present configuration or as a template for downloading to other Access Navigators. Because the IP settings are not saved, the file can be used with any Access Navigator having the same DCS or GR-303 options. File transfer normally takes only a few seconds.

NOTE: To download a configuration database file to an Access Navigator, see Load TFTP Config on page 18-37.
