CLI Command List

Field

Description

tftp

Download software via Internet TFTP.

The Controller update software file must be located on a TFTP

file server accessible by both the Telnet management terminal

and the Access Navigator. Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP)

allows a file to be sent over a network by specifying the server IP

address and file name or path name. Using an RS-232 or Telnet

management session, the operator sends a load tftp command

to the Access Navigator, specifying the location of the TFTP

server and update file. TFTP server capabilities, including time-

out settings, must match the bandwidth of the network being

used. Depending on the file size and network speed, the file

transfer may take several minutes.

active

Upgrade active Controller card.

standby

Upgrade standard Controller card.

ipaddr

IP address where software update file is stored. IP address has

format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where xxx is a number from 0 to 255.

file

File name including path used to locate the update software.

Carrier Access software file names are shortened for

compatibility with PC and UNIX systems. For example, a

Carrier Access part number for GR-303 software such as 019-

0050 version 1.72 would be shortened to 0050172.303.

Similarly, DCS software 019-0051 version 1.72 would be

shortened to 00510106.DCS. Software providing different

feature options will have different part numbers.

After sending the load command, the CLI will respond with a series of status messages.

Message:

Transmission complete.

Programming flash . . .

Software update succeeded.
