Restore Defaults

CAUTION! THE RESTORE COMMAND WILL INTERRUPT SERVICE. ALL CROSSCONNECTS AND SETTINGS WILL BE ERASED AND REPLACED BY FACTORY DEFAULT VALUES.

NOTE: In software release 1.7 and higher, this command will not change the Ethernet configuration, so CLI/Telnet and NetworkValet EMS management sessions will not be affected.

Purpose: This is a Level 1 command that allows a network manager to replace the settings stored in the Controller card’s flash memory with the factory default values. However, these values will not take effect until the card is reset, by command or power-up. After entering the restore defaults command, the CLI will prompt you to enter the reset all command. (Reset All on page 18-57) The reset all command takes about 30 seconds.

Security: Level 1 (manager)

Syntax: restore defaults

The restore defaults command has the following effects:

￿Immediately invalidates the current settings, so they will be replaced by factory default values when the card is reset or powered up.

￿Upon reset, replaces all settings with factory default values. (For details see Table 18-2.)

￿Upon reset, erases all crossconnects, provisioning, and other settings (except the Ethernet configuration).

￿Upon reset, erases all RAM data, including the event log, status, statistics, time, and date.

￿Upon reset, the clock starts at time 00:00:00 and date 01/01/1998.

￿Upon reset, the event log is empty.
