Load TFTP Config

CAUTION! CONFIGURATION FILES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE BETWEEN DIFFERENT SOFTWARE VERSIONS (INCLUDING OPTIONS SUCH AS DCS, GR-303,AND P-PHONE). SERVICE DISRUPTIONS CAN OCCUR IF A CONFIGURATION FILE CREATED BY ONE SOFTWARE VERSION IS DOWNLOADED TO AN ACCESS NAVIGATOR RUNNING A DIFFERENT VERSION.

CAUTION! THE ACCESS NAVIGATOR MUST BE RESET AFTER USING THE LOAD CONFIGURATION COMMAND. THIS WILL TEMPORARILY DISRUPT SERVICE (SEE RESET ALL ON page 18-57).

NOTE: The load config command does not alter the IP settings. This feature enables the user to employ the same configuration databases to configure several Access Navigators without changing the IP settings or duplicating IP address on the network.

Purpose: Downloads a file containing configuration database settings into the Access Navigator flash memory on each Controller card. The file transfer normally takes only a few seconds. After downloading the configuration file, a message will appear telling the operator to reset the Access Navigator in order for the settings to take effect.

NOTE: To upload the configuration database from the Access Navigator and save it in file format, see Upload TFTP Config on page 18-176.

Security: Level 2 (operator)

Syntax: load tftp config <ipaddr> <"file"> <blocksize>

Field

Description

tftp

Download software via Internet TFTP.

The configuration database file must be located on a TFTP file

server accessible by both the Telnet management terminal and

the Access Navigator. Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP)

allows a file to be sent over a network by specifying the server IP

address and file name or path name. Using an RS-232 or Telnet

management session, the operator sends a load config

command to the Access Navigator, specifying the location of the

TFTP server and configuration file. TFTP server capabilities,

including time-out settings, must match the bandwidth of the

network being used.

config

Configuration database.

ipaddr

IP address where configuration file is to be stored. (This is the IP

address of the TFTP server.) IP address has format

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where xxx is a number from 0 to 255.
