Syntax: set ds1 <n> fdl <noneslc96t1403>

Description

DS1 number, 1 to 32, or a range of numbers such as 2-8.

Disable FDL. (This is the required setting for remote management of Adit 600 terminals. See Set DS1 Remote Device Mgmt on page 18-113.)

Enable communications with Shelf A of SLC-96/TR-08 group. (Supports Access Bank I/TR-08 and line loopback commands.)

Enable detection and response to ANSI T1.403 bit-patterned codes over the FDL.

Example: set ds1 12 fdl none

Example: set ds1 12 fdl t1403

Set DS1 Framing

Purpose: Sets the DS1 framing type to D4, ESF, or SLC-96.

Switch DS1s for GR-303 use ESF. Drop DS1s to the Access Bank I/TR-08 use SLC- 96 framing. Drop DS1s to a remote Access Bank II use ESF framing, B8ZS line coding, and CA FDL management. For Adit 600 drop DS1s, see Application Configuration Requirements on page 18-107.

NOTE: The service application affects the permissible DS1 Type, Framing, Line Code, and FDL selections. For example, ESF is required for remote provisioning, which uses the ESF FDL channel for management communications. ESF is the default setting for the Access Bank II.

Security: Level 2 (operator)
