V.35

An international ITU-T standard for data transmission up to 1.544 Mbps (T1 line rate). It

 

is typically used for trunk interface between high-speed digital carriers and packet network

 

DTE or DCE equipment. Network routers are widely available with V.35 interfaces.

V.54

An international ITU-T standard for loop tests in modems, data communications

 

equipment, and data terminal equipment, using transmitted bit pattern codes to cause the

 

devices to loopup and loopdown on command.

Wide Area Network

Wideband

WAN. Generally refers to a network that connects users and systems across large distances using telecommunications networks such as phone lines or radio links.

Services requiring 1.5 to 50 Mb/s transport capacity.
