Provision GR-303 Service

Assign Call Reference Values (CRVs)

Assign Call Reference Values (CRVs)

CAUTION! SERVICE DISRUPTIONS CAN OCCUR IF YOU ASSIGN A CRV THAT IS

ALREADY IN USE BY ANOTHER SUBSCRIBER. ALWAYS VERIFY CRVS BEFORE MAKING CHANGES. DO NOT USE THESE STEPS TO CHANGE ISDN BRI CRVS.

NOTE: The IDT switch system will need to know the Call Reference Value (CRV) for each GR-303 DS0 voice termination. The switch uses the CRV to set up crossconnects. The CRV for each DS0 is programmable. Factory default CRVs are sequentially numbered from 1 to 768 (as shown in Figure 10-5), starting with the first DS0 channel on DS1 #1 and continuing to the last DS0 channel on DS1 #32. If required, the user can assign different CRV numbers. The only requirement is that the CRVs must be different for all assigned GR-303 voice terminations. ISDN BRI connections use the same CRV for the B1, B2, and D channel.

NOTE: A CRV with an active call can not be moved or reassigned.

NOTE: To avoid duplication when setting CRV numbers, if another channel has the same CRV number, it will be set to CRV #0 (not assigned).

1.Show current CRV settings with the following command: show crv <range>

Example: show crv 1-8

The show command will display the range of CRVs requested (up to 24), along with the DS1 and DS0 channel to which they are currently assigned. For example, the message for showing CRV numbers 1 to 8 would look similar to the following:
